It is a truth universally acknowledged among the great tea traders of the world that Uganda — that emerald nation straddling the equator at the very heart of Africa — produces black tea of a character wholly and uncommonly fine. The Pearl of Africa, as Churchill himself once named it, has long furnished the auction rooms of Mombasa with teas of such distinction that buyers from Karachi to Cairo, from London to Lahore, have made every effort — whether by letter, wire, or modern correspondence — to secure their portion.
We are pleased to present our Uganda Black CTC Tea, Primary Grades — a collection comprising D1 (Dust One), PD (Pekoe Dust), PF1 (Pekoe Fannings One), and BP1 (Broken Pekoe One) — available for bulk export at USD 2,000 to USD 2,800 per metric tonne, according to grade, season, and volume of order.
Of the Land and Its Uncommon Gifts
Uganda’s tea gardens are situated in conditions that one might be forgiven for mistaking for the work of deliberate design. The high-altitude growing regions of Bushenyi, Igara, Rukungiri, and the storied slopes of the Rwenzori Mountains afford the tea plant elevations ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 metres above sea level — high enough to impose upon the leaf a desirable slowness of growth, low enough to maintain the warmth that Camellia sinensis demands with such constancy. The volcanic red soils of these regions, enriched over centuries of geological generosity, lend to the finished tea a brightness of liquor and a depth of infusion that many origins — for all their ancient reputation — find themselves unable to match.
The CTC process — Crush, Tear, Curl — applied with modern precision in Uganda’s well-equipped processing factories, ensures that each particle of this tea is fashioned to yield its full measure of colour, strength, and character with the admirable promptness that commercial tea trade requires.
A Grade for Every Requirement of the Discerning Buyer
The Primary Grades are the crowning achievement of Uganda’s CTC manufacture, and each occupies its own distinguished station in the hierarchy of commercial tea:
D1 — Dust One: The finest dust grade produced from the CTC process — fast-brewing, intensely coloured, and unwavering in its strength. The tea bag manufacturer who values consistency above all things will find in D1 a most faithful ally.
PD — Pekoe Dust: A grade of slightly coarser particle, offering an admirable balance between colour depth and the clean briskness that blenders prize in their most trusted components.
PF1 — Pekoe Fannings One: The premier fannings grade, celebrated for a bright, clean liquor of outstanding cup quality. European and Middle Eastern packers have long shown a particular fondness for PF1’s combination of brightness and body.
BP1 — Broken Pekoe One: A coarser broken grade of distinctly full character — producing a malty, robust cup well suited to high-end retail blends and specialty packing applications that require the presence of a tea with genuine backbone.

Custom packaging, bespoke blend specifications, and private label arrangements of all kinds are within our capabilities — and we are most willing to discuss them in the strictest confidence.
Why Uganda? Why Now?
Uganda is Africa’s second-largest tea exporting nation, and its CTC teas are recognised at Mombasa Auction — one of the world’s great tea-trading forums — for their high cream content, bright liquor, and consistent manufacture. Unlike tea origins subject to a single harvest season, Uganda’s equatorial position enables year-round production and export, affording the international buyer a supply chain of admirable reliability and a commercial relationship unburdened by the anxieties of seasonal scarcity.
For the bulk importer, the tea bag manufacturer, or the brand owner who understands that the quality of the cup begins at the point of origin, Uganda Primary Grade Black CTC Tea presents a commercial proposition of uncommon merit — and a partnership of the most promising kind.
We warmly invite your inquiry. Samples, formal quotations, and full export documentation are available upon correspondence. CIF pricing may be arranged for all major global ports.
